On Thursday 20 April 2017, the summit was reached for the redevelopment of the government office building De Knoop. For the Central Government Real Estate Agency and R Creators (a collaboration between Strukton, Facilicom and Ballast Nedam), this was a time to thank everyone and to celebrate this collaboration.
The outdated complex is undergoing a sustainable redevelopment into a government office building that will house various government services. The activities consist of a combination of demolition, renovation and expansion. The starting point was to demolish as little as possible and reuse as much as possible.
Collaboration was an important criterion during the tendering phase. This collaboration (not only within R Creators, but also with the Central Government Real Estate Agency) is a guiding principle in the project and is bearing fruit. Construction is on schedule and we have a very good basis for further collaboration in the coming twenty years.
The meeting place for government
R Creators is not only producing a building that is designed and equipped to work, it will operate this model national meeting place for continuously satisfied users for twenty years. In the most hospitable, innovative and efficient way. The guiding themes are hostmanship and hospitality.
The building has a great capacity for adaptation. Growth and shrinkage are easy to absorb. Organisational units can move out or in without many modifications being necessary. This makes the government office building De Knoop not only contemporary, but also sustainable and future-proof.
