The King opens new court building in Breda

Three organisations are housed in the new building on Stationslaan: the Zeeland-West-Brabant District Court, the Zeeland-West-Brabant District Court Public Prosecutor’s Office (Public Prosecution Service) and the Council for Child Protection. The building houses 27 courtrooms, offices and various public spaces. The need for a new building, which took more than two years to build, came from a significant increase in the number of lawsuits.

The theme of the official opening is ‘Bringing up children within the rule of law and the role of the institutions in this’. The King will attend a session enacted by second-year pupils of the Stedelijk Gymnasium in Breda. He will also be shown around the building and speak with the users.

The new court building in Breda has been operational since June. The building will be open to the public on Saturday 29 September between 10:00 and 16:00.
