Facilicom Group has commenced working with ambition on the requirements arising from the European legislation, the Energy Efficiency Directive. To be climate-neutral as an organisation by 2030, Facilicom will be making all of its buildings sustainable and is looking into the possibility of generating its own sustainable energy.
Facilicom has already applied for a grant for installing PV panels at Facilicom Solutions’s location along the Geyssendorfferweg road in Rotterdam. PV panel is the technical name for solar panel. PV, or Photovoltaic, means 'light' and 'electricity'. The grant has since been approved.
By installing these PV panels, Facilicom expects to generate approximately 95,000 kWh per year, equivalent to the consumption by approximately 32 homes. Facilicom Energy Management (FEM) prepared and submitted the application and is now following up on the continued process. Breijer will install the PV panels and FEM will arrange for the monitoring and the annual reporting of the yield. This is an important step towards climate-neutral operations.
In addition to PV panels, Facilicom is also looking at energy efficiency opportunities through air purification using ionisation, the uniform delivery of cooling and heating by making use of Phase Changing Materials, and electric mobility.
